The City of Miami General Employees’ and Sanitation Employees’ Retirement Trust (GESE)

The plan is a single employer defined benefit pension plan covering all City of Miami General and Sanitation employees, except those eligible to opt out of participation in the plan.

This web site provides relevant information regarding GESE including the latest annual report, agendas, minutes of meetings, as well as other important information. In keeping with its goal of serving the members of this Plan, the board has established this site to provide information as efficiently and quickly as possible.

The City of Miami General Employees’ and Sanitation Employees’ Retirement Trust (GESE) is a defined benefit pension trust for all City employees and was instituted by the City of Miami Ordinance No. 5624, effective July 1, 1956.

Active Members

Participation in the GESE Trust is a mandatory condition of employment for all employees, except for those eligible to opt out of participation in the plan.
ACTIVE MEMBERS
GESE Retired Members - Group of People

Retired Members

Retired members of the General Employees’ and Sanitation Employees’ Retirement Trust receive a monthly pension payment on the 15th of each month.
RETIRED MEMBERS
GESE Other Members - Group of Older People

Other Members

A General Employees’ and Sanitation Employees’ Retirement Trust member who separates from employment may elect to leave or receive contributions.
